About Ramirez
Carissa Ramirez is a Certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner who grew up in Arlington Texas. She attended nursing school at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches Texas in 2000. After graduating, she joined the United States Air Force and began her women’s health career in a variety of settings such as labor and delivery, postpartum, antepartum, newborn nursery, and OB/GYN outpatient clinic.
Carissa knew early on that her passion was in women’s health so when she went to the University of Cincinnati to earn her Masters of Science in Nursing degree, she specialized in women’s health and became certified as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner.
Carissa truly enjoys taking care of women throughout all stages of their life. Carissa loves to spend time with patients, get to know them, and build a strong personal relationship. While taking care of patients, it is priority to Carissa that patients feel comfortable and respected so that every patient may feel valued and have the best experience possible each and every time they come to the clinic.
Pregnancy is one of the most life changing events in a woman’s life and Carissa feels very blessed and honored to take care of women during that special time. She has many years of experience taking care of women who have had low risk or high risk pregnancies and deliveries.
Carissa has extensive training and experience in all women’s health needs including well woman exams, perimenopause and menopausal treatment options, STD testing and management, pelvic pain, abnormal menstrual cycles or uterine bleeding, birth control including long acting reversible contraception and natural family planning to name a few.
When Carissa is not working at the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her husband, 2 children, and 2 dogs, exercising, baking, and reading.
